'Glossy birds' waterfall mini album

This mini was an absolute experiment for me. I was testing some new material for a cover. I came across some thinner canvas (you know the one, for paintings ) and it got me excited
ippbecause I was on the look for a thicker-than-chipboard material. It also gives the option to actually paint your cover so it makes for a great mixed media project. I however decided to cover it with some very cute paper.
The album measures 13.5 cm x 18.5 cm  (7 1/8 in x 5 1/4 in)

The canvas I used is about 2 times as thick as chipboard. To decorate the cover, I was eager to use some new paper I had just gotten at a local store. As it was birds and roses themed, I used some 3D  glittery card embellishments I had in my stash. I also cut out the stamp from the blue version of the same sheet I used for the cover. I was improvising as I went so in hind sight, I would have matted the 3D peace on a peace of solid colour card-stock so that it pops out more.

On the inside, I chose to do a waterfall assembly on both sides in order to give space for 22 photos. I did side flaps to cover that and keep the waterfall pieces in place. Each waterfall piece has 4 flaps which will comfortably fit a 9 cm x 12 cm (3.5 in x 4.75 in) photograph. When I print photos, I use Photoshop to place two images on one 9 x 12 cm (so I end up with two 6 x 8 cm- 3 1/8 in x 2 3/8 in ). Like this I can see more of the matting paper or have space to put embellishments around.

I used pink and blue card-stock to coordinate with my mats (I had pink and blue versions of the same paper). And that was about it.

I had a lot of fun creating this mini and the concept of the two top flaps, keeping the waterfall at bay, worked out quite well. I have since then created another version of this mini. I hope to be able to post it soon.

Wish you a sunny day! Toodles
