This was inspired by an awesome card Dawn from Dawn's Stamping Studio made! She called it the 'Starburst' card and here is a link to her video on Youtube. I put my own twist on it, and tried to make it as 'moving in' as possible.

What I love most about this design is that it is so versatile. With the appropriate paper it can be as easily and 'Birthday' or a 'Christmas' card. It is interesting enough that it can be a 'Thank you' card as well. Love it!
I used 2 papers from a stack of occasion papers by Craft Unlimited to take the lead of this 'moving in' theme. I let the materials I had on hand 'speak' to me as I needed the card to be ready he same evening. I don't know how it always so happens that I am fussing about, creating things last moment.
The paper I used inspired the rest of the card, actually. I had this sheet with the fragile icon and some other images you would see on a moving box on it, so that determined the feel of the card, so to say.
The base card I used, has a wallpaper texture to it (at least it reminds me of wallpaper) which fitted nicely with the theme. The shape of the stamped greeting inspired the shape of the 'starburst' effect. I layered the it on to of some corrugated card-stock, to give the look of a moving box.

I used a 'Hello' stamp greeting (popped up on some green card-stock), as I had nothing suitable for a 'new home' kind-a situation. I am giving the card when I go to visit, so it fits. The stamp was perfect as it had this tattered sort of feel to it, almost like a text on a- surprise, surprise- moving box.
For the panel, I layered the arrows of the 'fragile' paper to go in different directions for a more playful effect, but my OCD now tells me I should have let them point on way, oh well:D I still like it. My perfectionism gets the better of me sometimes. Luckily, the wording on the other paper goes in all directions so it didn't matter that much. I popped up that with some thinner foam tape on the corrugated card, glued the panel down and voila. Oh, yeah, I added the greeting of course, duuh.
Hope you enjoyed this easy-peasy card. It was a lot of fun to do and it didn't take long.
Be sure to check Dawn's video tutorial, it is very easy to follow and the idea is great.
Wish you a sunny day! Toodles
Vezz
