Addicted to CAS Challenge #68 - Chevron- my entry

Hey peeps,

Long time no see. It has been hell the past weeks but here I am, back and ready! I was very uninspired the past week because if loads of problems but I saw the new "Addicted to CAS" (CAS=clean and simple) challenge and I had whip up a card!! Code word is "Chevron", yaaay!

I kept it simple, of course, duuuh:). I used a 13cm square cad base from which I die-cut a large Delia Butterfly by Memorybox and I backed it with pretty glossy chevron pattern paper. So I used the negative space and kept the die cut for another card. The pattern paper is popped on foam tape to give it a bit of definition.

What I actually did next is die-cut a Hello sentiment from the middle of the leftover butterfly and used it in the middle of the negative space. I first used some orange fun foam to pop it up and give it a drop shadow of sorts (die-cutting that went super easy). Then I used a MFT heart I had left over from a previous card to back the whole thing. I popped it in the middle of the butterfly and Wink of Stella-ed the Hello. Who doesn't like some subtle sparkle, right? Wish I had WOS in jumbo size so I can do the card base as I didn't think to bedazzle it with clear glitter before I glued all on.

That is it, simple look and not so simple put together with all the popping up things:) That area on the back of the butterfly was pain to do, but totally worth it!

Have a great day. Toodels!

  2. Great design with the patterned chevrons in your butterfly aperture. Sorry to hear it's been a tough week. Hopefully having some play time making a card brought you some joy. Thanks for playing along at ATCAS.
